Flood Advisory issued June 6 at 6:00PM EDT until June 6 at 8:00PM EDT by NWS Albany NY * WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of eastern New York, including the following counties, Fulton and Montgomery. * WHEN...Until 800 PM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways. Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 600 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream flooding. Between 0.5 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Canajoharie, Fort Plain, St. Johnsville, Ephratah, Ames, Oppenheim, Palatine Bridge, Nelliston, Sand Hill, Christmans Corners, Stone Arabia, Valley Brook, Cook Corners, Kringsbush, Freysbush, Marshville, Keesler Corners, Charlesworth Corners, East Stone Arabia and Saint Johnsville. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
