Rip Current Statement issued May 13 at 4:59AM EDT until May 14 at 8:00PM EDT by NWS Tallahassee FL * WHAT...Dangerous rip currents expected. * WHERE...Walton, Bay, Gulf, and Franklin County Beaches. * WHEN...From 8 AM EDT /7 AM CDT/ this morning through Tuesday evening. * IMPACTS...Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away from shore into deeper water. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Surf conditions will begin to deteoriate late this morning, with multiple rounds of thunderstorms through Tuesday. Swim near a lifeguard. If caught in a rip current, relax and float. Don't swim against the current. If able, swim in a direction following the shoreline. If unable to escape, face the shore and call or wave for help.

Flood Watch issued May 13 at 1:31PM CDT until May 14 at 7:00PM CDT by NWS Tallahassee FL * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Portions of Florida, including the following areas, Calhoun, Central Walton, Coastal Bay, Coastal Franklin, Coastal Gulf, Coastal Jefferson, Coastal Wakulla, Gadsden, Holmes, Inland Bay, Inland Franklin, Inland Gulf, Inland Jefferson, Inland Wakulla, Jackson, Leon, Liberty, North Walton, South Walton and Washington and southwest Georgia, including the following areas, Decatur and Seminole. * WHEN...Through Tuesday evening. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Storm drains and ditches may become clogged with debris. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - 3 to 5 inches of additional rain is forecast in the watch area from Monday afternoon through Tuesday. Local amounts of up to 8 inches are possible. Wind Advisory issued May 14 at 4:36AM CDT until May 14 at 11:00AM CDT by NWS Tallahassee FL * WHAT...Southeast winds of 20 to 25 mph with gusts up to 40 to 50 mph. * WHERE...Portions of southeast Alabama, Big Bend and Panhandle Florida, and southwest Georgia. * WHEN...Until 11 AM CDT /noon EDT/ this morning. * IMPACTS...Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution.

Flood Advisory issued May 14 at 2:52AM CDT until May 14 at 4:45AM CDT by NWS Tallahassee FL * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of Panhandle Florida, including the following county, Bay. * WHEN...Until 445 AM CDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 251 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 2 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Panama City, Lynn Haven, Panama City Beach, Callaway, Springfield, Hiland Park, Tyndall Air Force Base, Parker, Dirego Park, Cedar Grove, Magnolia Beach, Southport, Millville, Brannonville, Vicksburg, Bay Harbor, College Station, St Andrews State Park, Biltmore Beach and Gulf Lagoon Beach. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads.
