JOHNS IN NORTHERN FLORIDA ALACHUA GILCHRIST MARION THIS INCLUDES THE CITIES OF ANASTASIA, ANTHONY, BAKERSVILLE, BOSTWICK, BURBANK, CARRAWAY, DURBIN, FRUIT COVE, GAINESVILLE, GAINESVILLE AIRPORT, NEWNANS LAKE, OCALA, OCALA AIRPORT, PALATKA, PALM COAST, PALM VALLEY, PONTE VEDRA BEACH, SWITZERLAND, TRENTON, AND WEIRSDALE.

Special Weather Statement issued May 14 at 9:38AM EDT by NWS Jacksonville FL At 938 AM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from near Bostwick to near Citra to 7 miles north of Inverness Highlands North. Movement was northeast at 40 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts around 40 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Ocala, Palatka, Interlachen, Pomona Park, Hastings, East Palatka, Salt Springs, Citra, Lynne, and Fort McCoy. If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle. A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 100 PM EDT for northern and northeastern Florida.
