Rip Current Statement issued May 13 at 4:59AM EDT until May 14 at 8:00PM EDT by NWS Tallahassee FL * WHAT...Dangerous rip currents expected. * WHERE...Walton, Bay, Gulf, and Franklin County Beaches. * WHEN...From 8 AM EDT /7 AM CDT/ this morning through Tuesday evening. * IMPACTS...Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away from shore into deeper water. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Surf conditions will begin to deteoriate late this morning, with multiple rounds of thunderstorms through Tuesday. Swim near a lifeguard. If caught in a rip current, relax and float. Don't swim against the current. If able, swim in a direction following the shoreline. If unable to escape, face the shore and call or wave for help.

Flood Watch issued May 13 at 1:31PM CDT until May 14 at 7:00PM CDT by NWS Tallahassee FL * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Portions of Florida, including the following areas, Calhoun, Central Walton, Coastal Bay, Coastal Franklin, Coastal Gulf, Coastal Jefferson, Coastal Wakulla, Gadsden, Holmes, Inland Bay, Inland Franklin, Inland Gulf, Inland Jefferson, Inland Wakulla, Jackson, Leon, Liberty, North Walton, South Walton and Washington and southwest Georgia, including the following areas, Decatur and Seminole. * WHEN...Through Tuesday evening. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Storm drains and ditches may become clogged with debris. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - 3 to 5 inches of additional rain is forecast in the watch area from Monday afternoon through Tuesday. Local amounts of up to 8 inches are possible.
